Human Rights intern’s General Duties (2.5 days per week)

- Human Rights
-covers the UN bodies and conferences, especially the Human Rights Council in Geneva: writes and publishes reports.
-inputs in monthly update to sections on field of responsibility
-assists WILPF representatives at various NGO committees and working groups in Geneva
-maintains database with contacts relevant to field of responsibility (an appropriate training will be provided)
-assists the Secretary General and International Office Manager in projects and tasks relevant to Human Rights
-participates in the planning of WILPF meetings: coordinates logistics, including registration, minutes taking, distributed material…; acts as link with the invited speakers or personalities; communicates on the event to WILPF network; coordinates WILPF delegation attending the meeting

- International website maintenance
-updates WILPF International website with information relevant to fields of responsibility (an appropriate training will be provided)

 

Human Rights intern’s Office Management Duties (2.5 days per week)

- Administrative and personnel management
-selects, trains and manages short-term interns in Human Rights
-participates in the selection and training of the following Human Rights intern
-responsible for the management of the database and coordinate updates (training will be provided)
-manages general email account membership@wilpf.ch
-handles current members’ requests and new members’ applications in conjunction with IOM
-coordinates publications (subscriptions, mailings and filing): IPU, section mailings and directory

- All interns’ office duties
-provide help to the Secretariat on Int’l meetings and events planning, including fundraising actions
    -assist the Secretary General and the International Office Manager in tasks relevant to field of responsibility as well as office management
-handle administrative and office duties under their responsibilities on a cooperative manner, with an eye to improving efficacy
-contribute to WIP
-maintain running task list / constantly updated work plan
-actively participate in the mailings from the Secretariat
-file, archive (office and server)
-maintain the office
-enter data into WILPF database (min 1 hour per week)
-update handover manual (guidelines relevant to field of responsibility + office management guidelines)
-assist each other with life outside the office
