Women and the Revolutions

You may have been wondering what happened to the women in the revolutions of the last few months. As this piece shows, the media has been remiss in informing the world of the vital role women have played and of the necessity of ensuring participation in state building afterwards. WILPF is going to hold a conference in September to coincide with the session of the Human Rights Council, where we intend to bring women from the countries that are undergoing these radical changes to discuss the what has happened, what are the obstacles to their particpation in state building and what must be done to ensure that these obstacles are overcome. Security Council Resolution 1325 in action, no less!
