![]() In 1995 the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom organized the Peace Train to attend the UN Fourth World Conference on Women and coordinated the Peace Tent in Beijing. We literally traveled from Helsinki to Beijing by train, with 240 women and men from 42 nations. In March 2010, the Commission on the Status of Women will undertake a fifteen-year review of the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. WILPF has been actively engaged and increased the attention for Critical Area E, on women and armed conflict, in the preparatory meetings with NGOs and the UNECE. Please follow the links in the box at the right side of the page to learn more. Do contact us at rights@wilpf.ch to provide input or to pose questions. Last updated: 27 November 2009
