Session 7
General Information on the 7th Session
The 7th Session of the Human Rights Council (HRC) concluded with the adoption of 36 resolutions. The mandates of 13 Special Rapporteurs were extended, and a new mandate on access to safe drinking water and sanitation was established. WILPF gave an oral statement on the adverse effects of the illicit movement and dumping of toxic and dangerous products and wastes on the enjoyment of human rights, and submitted a written statement on the situation of Human Rights in Burma. WILPF co-signed statements on extreme poverty (french), the effects of economic reform policies (french), gender and economic reform, the right to food (french), the human rights situation in Iraq, and the human rights situation in Turkey (french).
