Additional Human Rights Developments

Other developments that came out of this session include a discussion on the schedule for the first few series of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR). Further Information on this is available from the OHCHR, including General Guidelines for NGO submission in the six official UN languages. NGO submissions to the UPR should be similar to Shadow Reports to the treaty bodies, but the OHCHR requests a five page limit on these reports.

Outside of the Palais des Nations, news of the HRC's work is spreading. The OHCHR recently made available a list of documents that they provided to the Fourth and Third Committees of the 62nd Session of the General Assembly. Peruse these documents here, to have a look at the formal UN documentation that comes out of the Human Rights Conferences WILPF follows.
