Actual struggle
On 24th September there will be a vote about the referendum against the
most inhuman laws about asylum seekers and foreigners. On this referendum
we put the main emphasis all this year, together with trade unions, left
and green parties, churches and many other organizations. On 17th June
we had a manifestation with more than 11'000 people that was a great success.
It will be a hard struggle, but we hope to win...
Government
Our Federal Council with seven members is more and more right-wing. Now
we have got a second (!) woman, but she supports the asylum law. The other
woman, our foreign minister Micheline Calmy-Rey, had a good speech at
the opening session of the HRC in Geneva.
Arms
End of June, the initiative against arms export will start. We have to
try to fight also against the government's decision to buy tanks and combat
aircrafts for millions and millions of francs.
Women
15 years ago we had the famous women's strike day for women's equal rights.
Today we are still far from equality, but there is more engagement
