Coordination with other WILPF sections, inspiration, synergies
Structure was okay, in spring we didn't get it or not in time.
Short information on international activities undertaken from Geneva,
Updated UN-Calendar,
More communicative website - with a part of blogs, direct intervention
possibility, exchanges, same model for all other (national) websites
Peacewomen is fine!!
Peacewomen /newsletter + follow up UN Peace Commission, HR Council
It is fine!
Some of us use it for disarmament issues
Not really!
It is our lack of time!
Very useful and informative - key website for a lot of activities and
giving WILPF a high profile and visibility in the scene
Yes
Fine!
Especially through the activities on 1325
1325 and peaceful conflict solution
It is combined to other issues and we have it in mind!
Some water activities!
Cooperation in the German network " abolition 2020"
Seminary in Berlin with Regina Hagen and Susi Snyder
Irmgard was ready to participate in the WILPF working group of disarmament
but after one contact no information followed

Cooperation in the network of the German Women Security Council: lobbying
on the implementation of 1325
Participation in international/European activities (Social Forum Athens,
Peace saloon Paris
)
Lobbying letters, our own participation in forums on all level of decision
making if possible, workshops
Contacts to political parties and NGOs
Cooperation with the Platform on Civilian Conflict Solution in Germany
(combined with the cooperation in GPS/EPLO
a) Trafficking Women - action stop illegal prostitution around the Football
championship together with several women's organisations
b) Participation in the coordination against violence and trafficking
Change of government from red-green coalition to the "big coalition"
- Social democrats and Christian democrats with Angela Merkel, first women
chancellor as a powerful mediator. Her conservative spirit and her sense
of negotiating does not make very clear a political profile but gives
free access of right wing ideas and forces to act.
Nearly un-existing opposition: Greens are still attracted by power games
having difficulties to find their new role, liberals are too near to CDU(
neoliberalism),the left party is a mixture of frustrated syndicalists
from the west, old Nomenklatura from the east and some interesting (young)
people.
The poorer you are the more you pay the "reforms": higher TVA,
higher sanitary costs, social cuts
Foreign and Security politics: new "white book" on "defence
strategy" which tries to legitimate officially military interventions
outside the country (already in practice since the Kosovo war) in "German
interest" (anti-terrorist fights, against fundamentalists, for resources...),
the possibility of military use also in the country (starting already
with the football championship). Interesting for us: action plan on civil
conflict solution (problem: finances, totally un-gendered, strategically
less used). The new government confirmed that there will not be an action
plan on 1325. German government now starts to admit that we are officially
a migration country but at the same time new barriers against the integration
of in Germany working migrant workers are built. We are confronted with
raising of violent activities of neo-fascist groups.
