Building the Other Superpower!
a pan-Canadian peace conference

Toronto
November 5-7th 2004
Ryerson University

This conference, jointly organized by the Canadian Peace Alliance, Toronto Coalition to Stop the War, Canadian Voice of Women for Peace and the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom-Toronto is a chance for peace organizations in Canada to get together, share experiences, debate and develop future directions for the movement. All peace and anti-war groups are invited! The weekend will be filled with dozens of workshops, strategy sessions and entertainment. It will allow us to get to know each other
beyond just e-mail addresses. There will be more info on the conference coming soon so keep your eyes open.

WILPF Toronto will be holding a workshop called "Disarmament: From the Corridors of Power to the Streets of Canada". Susi Snyder, Director, WILPF UN Office New York will be facilitating. The workshop will be organized so the discussion moves from the halls of the UN to the rest of the world with particular focus on what we as Canadians can do. Furthermore, a workshop on Security Council Resolution 1325 will be held in collaboration with Voice of Women (VOW).

All WILPF members from any branch are welcome to a strategy meeting on Sunday organized by WILPF-Toronto to determine how to best focus WILPF's energy and work together on issues in the upcoming year.
