Economics of Militarism

The “war economy” is the most lucrative business on the planet. WILPF’s project on the Economics of Militarism aims at highlighting the fact that vast financial resources, that could, and should, be invested in promoting sustainable development and building a cooperative economy, are instead invested in military, weapons and wars. WILPF believes that security cannot be built through military means, but through trust and close relations between countries. Read more about the project on Economics of Militarism here

Export Processing Zones

As a part of WILPF’s efforts to end economic injustices WILPF has a project on Export Processing Zones (EPZs). .The objective of the project is to gather and spread information about the terrible working conditions in EPZs, where violations of labor and human rights are common. WILPF considers EPZs to be an obstacle to the building of a just and peaceful society free from economic injustices and discrimination.Read more about the project and Export Processing Zones here

WILPF believes that under systems of exploitation, peace and freedom cannot be achieved. Our mission is to further by non- violent means a transformation that would enable the establishment of economic and social systems in which political equality and social justice for all can be attained, without discrimination on the basis of sex, race, religion, or any other grounds whatsoever. WILPF sees as its ultimate goal the establishment of an international economic order founded on the principles of meeting the needs of all people and not on those of profit and privilege.
