NZ signs explosive clean up protocol

New Zealand has signed an international protocol that requires countries to clean-up explosives after war.
  
The agreement means explosives have to be removed and destroyed after hostilities have ended.
   
Disarmament Minister Phil Goff says bombs, shells and cluster munitions continue to damage communities in Cambodia, Laos and Mozambique.
   
He says a defence force team is currently in Southern Lebanon to clean up unexploded bombs.
