The explosion of an Israeli cluster bomb has left a 35-year-old man killed in southern Lebanon while he was trying to collect firewood.

"The bomb went off as Mohammad Hamzeh was collecting firewood in the town of Zibqine near the southern port city of Tyre. Hamzeh was instantly killed,” Lebanon's state-run National News Agency (NNA) said on Wednesday.

More than 30 people have been killed by cluster bomb and land mine explosions in Lebanon since the end of the 33-day war in 2007.

The United Nations and human rights groups say the Zionist regime had dropped about 4 million cluster bombs during the war. Up to 1 million failed to explode and now endanger civilians in the area.
